I’m Niclas Grüning, though you’re welcome to call me Nic. I’m over 35—at least on paper—and sometimes still feel 20. I’m married and live with my wife and our daughter in the beautiful Eichsfeld region.
I’m an easy-going, sociable person who loves telling stories through photographs and films. My passion for photography began in the early 2000s with a small digital camera. After training as a media designer, I started my own business in 2011.

Focus
For years, I focused mainly on weddings close to home. That has changed: I love destination weddings and have already travelled with couples to Tuscany, Lake Garda, the Dolomites, Tyrol and the Salzkammergut.
I still photograph weddings close to home, and I love combining local celebrations with destination weddings. Each brings new perspectives and experience that I can share with my couples.
Film
During my media design training, I worked on a range of video projects and learned a lot about filming and editing. But corporate image films? They never really excited me.
In 2021, I gave wedding films a proper try and filmed my first weddings. What can I say? It was love at second sight. Today, I love bringing photography and film together.
Own business – Photo
Since 2011, I have photographed weddings in a deliberately limited number each year, so every couple receives my full attention.
Alongside photography, I work as a sales and project manager for an international industrial company. Planning complex projects also helps me keep your wedding day running smoothly.
Education
I have always been creative and began training as a media designer in 2007. Within my first few months, I travelled to Beijing and photographed several athletes during the Paralympic Games. Photography quickly became part of my everyday life.
I also learned a lot of video and print skills that I still benefit from today.
